Winter in Marystown

Hi there:
Winter came early to Marystown and stayed. Last winter we didn't get any significant snowfall until late January but this year we got snow in early December and it stayed with several snow storms to following throughout January.
Enough snow came that I went out and bought a snow thrower - it's an 8 HP 28" Toro which has made me realize that I should have had such an animal for years. It sure takes the work out of clearing snow. You can notice the little home my brother-in-law Mike and I made to store it as I do not have a shed. That is a project for the spring.
I took a few photos to let you know what you are missing by not being here in winter. Tonight and tomorrow we are supposed to get 40 mm of rain and temperatures aroung 7 degrees. It is supposed to stay like that for several days before it cools off again. There is one there that shows the snow piled up in the Marystown Mall parking lot where Joan works. See the mall in the background.
Not much news from here. We are both working all the time. It makes the time pass by much quicker for me as I look forward to the warmer temperatures and golfing weather.
Stay in touch and forward along any winter photos you may have. For you Pat we wouldn't mind a few pictures of the sunny south.

New Year's in Marystown

Hey everyone:

Happy New Year to you from all of us here.
Despite a snow storm here in Marystown, a few brave souls did manage to make it to our house on New Year's Eve to help us ring in 2008. We did have a great time and I have posted a few photos to prove it. As always we ate too too much but that seems to be part of the season. Some of Gladys's family made it too. Boyd and Bernadette weren't here as they were visiting with Therese in St. John's.

Cheryl left to go back to Toronto on New Year's Day. She was a couple of hours late leaving St. John's and as a result arrived in Toronto late but with her luggage this time.

I am still waiting to hear from a couple of you with some photos - namely Junior and Brian. There is still time to send them along.

Photos from Alberta

Hi everyone:

The following are some photos sent to me by Terry King. These were taken in Medicine Hat, Alberta while Terry, Gayanne, Matthew and Robert were visiting for Christmas. As you may notice Leo is conspicious by his abscense. Do hope that is corrected soon. Also included in the photos are Terry Stacey, Tracey King-Hynes and her children Joshua and Emma.

Enjoy!

Barry

P.S. Just added one of Leo and Josh.
