Stacey-Barlow Christmas 2015

Hey there:

We are going to make this Christmas one of the best we have ever had. We have started with decorations inside and outside the house and I have started with some photos. I will update as more photos become available.

P.S. Since my original post here we have gotten the reports of Cheryl's lastest CT Scan and MRI. Both were good and showed signs of healing everywhere. We are thanking the Lord for his blessings and will endeavour to make this one of our best Christmases ever.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Winery Tours

On the way to Buffalo to see the Bills Patriots game, Cheryl, Greg and I stopped at a couple of wineries at Niagara-in-the-lake to test some of Ontario's finest wines. We visited two wineries - one called Chateau de Charme which Cheryl and I had toured in the past as well as a winery named Strewn.

We did a winery tour at Chateau de Charme and they took us from the vineyard to the cellar where the wine is made. It was a fun tour and we finished up the traditional wine tasting of a white wine, a red wine and a rose. They were very nice to fast - not sure I would want to drink a lot though. I have included a few photos from our tour.

At Strewn we had a little lunch in their relatively new restaurant and we tasted their wines including an ice wine which I didn't really like as I found it too sweet. At Chateau de Charme the tasting was included in the tour fee while at Strewn they had tastings for 50 cents each with a limit of 4. However, I went before our lunch to try it out and went back with Greg after lunch. Again the wines were ok except for the ice wine.

Below are some photos of our little wine outing. It would be worth your while to do that little tour sometime to Niagara-on-the-lake as there are lots of other wineries out there in that strip and they all offer some type of tasting menu.

New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills Game

On Sunday September 20 Cheryl, Greg and I went to Buffalo, NY to see the NFL game between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. It was the first NFL game for Greg and I while Cheryl had seen 1 or 2.

Cheryl is a big fan of Tom Brady who quarterbacks the Patriots while Greg cheers for the Dallas Cowboys and my team is the Green Bay Packers. As you can see form the photos, there are lots of shots of Brady and the Patriots. There were over 72,000 people at the game and they were very loud for most of the game. I was amazed with the amount of tailgate parties outside the stadium and in the nearby parking lots. Lots of food, drink and fun with plenty of police presence but nobody seemed to mind. It is just a normal football Sunday afternoon in Buffalo.
