Beginning of summer in Marystown

Hi everyone:
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been busy with work and other things. Just excuses though. Since the weather is warming up I thought that I would update you on the past couple of months and let you know what may be happening in and around Marystown during July and August with regards to the Stacey's.
Gladys and I visited Cheryl in Toronto for a week from May 9 - 17. During that visit we managed to see all the crowd for a little while at least. We went for a short visit with Junior and Nora during which Pat and Evelyn came by too. We then went on to visit Brian, Josie and Julie the same evening. Lucy came downtown to visit us on Friday and we had lunch - she tried sushi. We finished off with a visit to the camp grounds where Terry King and Pat stayed for the long weekend. Bob came there to see us as he was working a fair bit while we were there. Everybody was looking good.
Nora was doing well but she had a little bit of a cold. Nora has her last treatment today so it would be nice if we all kept her in our thoughts and prayers. We want her to know that we are all praying for and wish her all the best. Stay tough and we know you are going to beat this. God Bless.
Cheryl was off to Turkey and Rome, Italy for a holiday the first couple of weeks in June. She had a great relaxing trip and came back eager to get back to work!! Ha!Ha! She sent some great photos and I'll post a couple.
Here is what I have heard of those in the Stacey clan who are coming to visit this summer and the dates. If I have made any erros I stand to be corrected.

1. Pat Arriving in Marystown July 4. He is driving down and Evelyn is flying in to St. John's on July 18 which also happens to be Pat's 65th birthday.
2. Terry King, Gayanne, Matt, Robert and the dog are supposed to be arriving on July 18. They will be here for a couple of weeks.
3. Kevin and Diane will be here from Moncton from July 24-31.
4. Tracey, Leo, Josh and Emma Hynes from Medicine Hat will be here on August 2 and I am not sure about the length of their stay.
5. I have heard that Lucy is coming for a visit on Aug 2 but I haven't heard anything official yet.
6. Cheryl is coming for a week from Aug 22-29. Her friend Nicole who has never been to NL is supposed to coming for a visit that week too. We are looking forward to having her visit as she is very nice to us anytime we are in Toronto.

If I have left anyone out that you may know of who is visiting, please drop me a line or give me a call. From time to time I have been know to make an odd mistake.

I am going to post a few photos that we took while in Toronto, a couple of Cheryl's vacation as well as a couple of Tracey's two children, Josh and Emma. Enjoy and we look forward to seeing all of you who will be visiting throughout the summer.

Regards.
Barry

Tyler's 17th Birthday

Hi all:
Just a note to give you a couple of photo's of Tyler's 17th birthday on April 15. Gladys and I visited with them all for some pizza and cake to help him celebrate.
As you can see from the photos his hair is growing back fairly fast. I suppose it'll be long and curly soon. We can only wish.
Also on Wednesday, the day before his birthday he was successful in his driver's road test so I guess there's one more out there for us to look out for. He did take the Driver Education program and I'm sure he will be a very responsible driver. Good luck.
Enjoy the photos. Hope all is well with everyone out there.
Regards.
Barry

P.S. My camera was just a little slow on the first photo and I missed the blowing of the candle - jus got the cloud of smoke left over.

Mom's 87 Birthday April 3

Hi everyone:
Below are a couple of photos of mother taken on her 87th birthday on Saturday April 3. Gladys and I took her out to supper as Joan was working and Bernadette and Boyd were in St. John's for the weekend. She had her usual liver and onions at Kelly's Restaurant.
Other than that not much news. Hope you are all having a quiet Easter at home.
Barry

P.S. Notice that Tyler's hair is growing back. You can notice the difference in 2 days.

Happy Birthday Kevin!!

Shave For the Brave - The Deed is Done!!

Hi everyone:
Well, as promised here are the photos of Tyler taken before, during and after taking part in the Shave For the Brave which was held at his school this afternoon. Gladys was off work this afternoon so she went along to take a few photos which came out rather well.
Many thanks to all of you for donating to Tyler and his final total was around $600. Gladys said that one other boy had around $570 while a young girl had over $1300 pledged. Once I hear a final total from their school I'll pass the information along.
Enjoy the photos and here's hoping that all of you have a nice Easter.
Cheers.
Barry

P.S. You may send an email to Tyler at the following address. I inadvertently put an incorrect address in my earlier email. tyler_king_7@hotmail.com

Shave For the Brave

Hi all:
Below is a couple of photos of Tyler who is taking part in an upcoming fundraiser called Shave For the Brave which is being held at his school Marystown Central High on Thursday April 1. In this fundraiser students show their support for this cancer research fundraiser by having their heads shaved. They also collect funds from people to sponsor them in this very important endeavour. He is looking for all your support.
You can do so by contacting him at 709-279-5344 or by contacting me by phone or email.
We are all touched in some way by this dreadful disease and hopefully the funds raised here will help in finding a cure. You have to admit that he has quite a head of hair to get shaved. I'm sure he'll be happy to not have to wash, comb and dry this mop for a while. I will post some afther the shave photos for you all to see after the event. Along with them I'll post a few photos of Mom taken on her 87th birthday.

Also I'll pass along birthday greetings to the following:
April 1 Terry Stacey
April 2 Bob Stacey
April 3 Mother - 87
April 4 Kevin
April 7 Bernadette

Cheers.
Barry

Happy New Year 2010 from Marystown

Hi All:
Happy New Year from all of us here. We had a nice Christmas and a great little get together here at our house on New Year's Eve with quite a few of Gladys's family as well as Mom and Boyd.

Cheryl leaves tomorrow to fly back to Toronto. We had a very good Christmas weather wise with absolutely no snow. I've included a couple of photos I took this morning showing the bare ground here in Marystown. Not many times you could see such conditions on January 2.

Enjoy the photos. I do hope you all enjoyed the holidays and that you will have a happy, healthy and prosperous year in 2010.

Cheers,
Barry
