Golfing News Recap

Hi there:

Just thought a few of you may have wondered what I've been up to this summer on the golf tour. Even though I've had a busy summer with visitors and vacations, and a poorer than normal summer, I still did manage to get a few rounds under my belt. In the end I did have a fairly successful season. In our club events, I finished second in match play losing on the final hole. I fell behind early and manage to claw back into a tie on the 17th hole only to have a poor tee shot on 18 and couldn't recover. I guess second is not too bad.

Our annual Men's club championship was held on Sat and Sun, Sept. 20 and 21 which was the two days after our return from our Eurpean Vacation. I didn't get home until 11:15pm Friday night so I was quite tired on Saturday but did manage to stay close, falling behind by only one strok after Day 1. After nine holes on Sunday I had taken a 3 stroke lead and cruised over the last nine holes to win my second title in a row this time by a margin on four strokes. I've attached a couple of photos below of me and some of the guys as well as one of me and Gerard Cooke, the guy who defeated me in Match Play.

This past weekend I attended the Terra Nova Invitational and had a fairly good weekend. I finished in the top 10 in a field of about 115 golfers which was pretty good for me. I was only 6 strokes out of top spot. There were some pretty good golfers there and I played in a foursome with the winner on Saturday. He beat me by only 3 strokes each day. On Sunday I did have a good day and had my first ever eagle three on a par 5. It resulted in me winning a skin of $300. I should do that more often. Had a great time and love playing that course.

Later.
Barry
