While on a recent visit to Montreal with Gladys and Cheryl, I along with Cheryl took in our first hockey game at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Since I am a passionate Habs fan it was indeed a thrill for me to see 2 of the original 6 teams play. The game ended 2 - 1 for the Hawks which was a bit of a disappointment but overall it was a very enjoyable game to watch. After falling behind 1 - 0 early the Habs rallied to tie it up only to have the Hawks go up 2 - 1 midway through the first period. Even though there were many chances either way the score stood up as neither team scored thereafter.
Below are some photos taken inside and outside the Bell Center as well as some of the warmup and first period of the game. In between periods while strolling around, we had our camera taken away from us as it had a lens which detaches from the camera. Apparently there is an NHL rule that such cameras aren't permitted during the game. We weren't told about this when we entered the arena. So we had to check our camera into security in the basement of the arena and pick it up after the game was over. We were taken by a security guard on a tour of the arena to where we had to put our camera - he took us by elevator and back way so we didn't miss too much of the game. By the time we arrived back at our seats there were 2 minutes gone in the second period.
Enjoy the photos.
Cheers
Barry
