Marystown News
As the month of May winds down our temperatures are beginning to rise even if it is only to double digits. Today we could get outsdie without a jacket on. Our weather for this month has been cool and dry with overnight temperatures hovering near the freeing mark.
I am now holding down two jobs. Not bad for a retired old fellow. I work at my first job for a day a week - usually Monday or Saturday and from Tuesday to Friday I teach at Keyin Technical College in Marystown. I work from 8:00am to 1:00pm with a group of students who are hoping to begin a pipe insulation course in June. Most of the people I work with have worked at FPI, local fish plant, for over 30 years until it closed in December 2005. If the pipe insulation course begins I will be finished or if the fish plant opens in late June most of these people will return to work at the plant for the summer at least. I hope things work out for them.
Gladys is still working at Riff's and it seems like she is going to make a career out of it. Cheryl is still at the same law firm, Mcmillan Binch Mendelshon, and like her mother, seems to be set to stay there!!!
All is well with the family here in Marystown. Mother is now 84 and is doing well. She still gets out and around and does some housework. She stays with Joan and Tyler. Alv has been working in Medicine Hat, Alberta since late February but will return to the plant if and when it opens. Bernadette and Boyd are in school hoping to begin a pipe insulation course, mentioned above, in June or whenever it begins. They will return to work when the plant opens but when the course begins they will take educational leave.
Theresa is finished school for now and is working in St. John's. Tyler is finishing up Grade 8 and is doing quite well in school.
I am starting to play a little golf these days. I am a fair weather golfer so I have not golfed a lot because of the cool weather. These days I am busy helping set up our 10th Annual Men's Invitational Golf Tournament from June 8-10. We have about 100 golfers from Stephenville to St. John's compete over two days. It is usually very successful and players love to come back here to play.

Family News
Hello everyone! I am not sure if this is a good idea but we'll see. I have decided to try and come up with a small blog to update things in the extended Stacey family. I am new to this thing so you will have to bear with me as I try and make this happen. Any suggestions, comments, and ideas will be appreciated. From time to time I will update the blog with whatever new information I may have. Any photos or news from anyone will be added as I get time from my very busy schedule. I am not sure how far I will go with this but I guess time will tell if I can put my computer time to good use.
