Cheryl's Toronto Condo

Hey all:

Below are a few photos of Cheryl's condo which she moved into in July of this year. It's a two bedroom place located at Yonge and Summerhill. Gladys and I visited in early October to help her get some things done like hanging pictures, mirrors and curtains. She loves her place and it's easy to see why. We also liked it too. She has a real nice balcony with a great view of the downtown skyline. Enjoy the photos and maybe those of you outside Toronto will get to visit her sometime.

Thanksgiving 2008 in Toronto

Hi there:

We'll we've been to Toronto and back. I spent a couple of weeks there in early October and helped Cheryl out with her condo - hanging a few pictures and mirrors. Gladys came for the second week so she could help with curtains and things.

While there we had all the Stacey's come for a visit on Thanksgiving Day for pizza - sorry not turkey!! Maybe next time. It was nice to see Pat and Evelyn, Lucy, Junior and Nora, Brian, Josie and Julie as well as Bob. Cheryl's friend Nicole who happened to be in Toronto for a visit that weekend dropped by and was kind enough to take a group photo for us. She also tried and loved lips and snouts and wrinkles.

I've posted a few photos below. I'll post a few of Cheryl's condo in another post.

Hope all is well with everyone.
Cheers!

London Vacation

Hi there:

Just a few notes and photos about our recent week in London. We had a great time. The weather was somewhat similiar to home with temperatures in the 15-18 degree range. Gladys and I arrived on Friday and Cheryl joined us on Saturday. We stayed with Cheryl's friend Nicole Frew who works and lives in London. She has a two bedroom flat and was kind enough to take us all in and show us a good time. We only had a shower the first day we arrived so that was great. We visited all the touristy spots and ate at some nice pubs and restaurants. I have inlcuded some photos of each below. I've also included some photos to show some of the modern architecture there as well.

We went to see the theatre production of Billy Eliott the first day and went to an Italian restaurant that evening. We finished of with some shisha at a small Moroccan pub. One of the photos shows us smoking some sort of long pipe. That's shisha!!!

Over the next few days we saw or visited all of the following.
  • Buckingham Palace, Royal Mews, Royal Art Gallery, State rooms
  • Windsor Castle
  • Tower of London
  • Tralfalgar Square
  • Picadilly Circus
  • London Eye
  • St. Paul's Cathedral
  • Greenwich
  • Eton College
  • Kensington Palace
  • Hyde Park
  • White Hart Lane - Premier Division Soccer Game - Tottenham and Aston Villa
  • Westminister Abbey - went to Evensong with the Boys Choir
  • Covent Gardens
  • Soho
  • Diana's Fountain

We went out to dinner every evening except the night of the soccer game. We really enjoyed sight seeing around London and with Cheryl as a guide it was quite fun even if at time she had myself and her mother running to catch boats and trains. We finished off our London trip with dinner at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant called Boxwood Cafe. The service was so excellent and the food was great too. From the photos you can see we had a great time.
After we left Cheryl and Nicole went to Positano on the Italian Riveria for the weekend. I'll get some photos from her when I go to Toronto and publish when I get back.

Hope all is well.
