The Staceys - Toronto 2011

Hi Everyone:

Gladys and I visited Toronto from May 20 until June 2 this year during which time we were kept very busy. We had a great time as the weather was, for us, perfect during the whole two weeks. It was t-shirt and shorts weather which we still haven't experienced in NL this year except for a day here or there.

When we left St. John's for Toronto on May 2 it was 4º C and when we arrived in Toronto it was in the high teens and sunny. Best day they had so far in Toronto so I guess they waited for us. When we left Toronto it was above 20º C and when we arrived back it St. John's it was wet and 6º C. It proceeded to rain for the next four days. Then last week it rained for several days but from Thursday until Sunday it cleared away and we had 4 fairly good days. Just in time to take us through a 4 day golf event I organized. For the most part this week it has been cool, wet and windy with temperatures hanging in the 8 – 10º C range.

While in Toronto Cheryl hosted a gathering at her building where we were able to meet some of Greg's family for the first time as well as some of Nicole's family. Along with members of the Stacey clan as well as that my Aunt Elsie, her son's Bob, John and daughter, Mary Lou along with John's boys Jacob and Robert who were able to come along, we had a very enjoyable afternoon and evening.

I have a lot of photos that some of you are waiting to see. Since I have so many rather than put them all in one post I have done them in several sections so that it may make it a little easier for you to remember all. I kind of did them by family but there are some that are a mixture of other families. So I have some different posts that I will upload including the Staceys, Cousins', Barlows, Frews, and some others. As well what would a trip to Toronto be without my doing something related to Sports.

I do hope you guys enjoyed the get together as much as we did and I hope the photos bring back a few pleasant memories.

Cheers,

Barry

My Cousins - The Cousins's From Ontario

Hi guys:
It was nice to see for the first time in a long time some of my cousins from just north of Toronto. Elsie looks great and we were happy to hear that you may be coming to Newfoundland for a visit in the fall. It was the first time in 7 years for me to see Bob, John, Mary Lou and Jacob while it was the first time for us to see Robert. I guess it was even longer for Gladys since she had seen them.
We are sorry that Pam, Chrissy, Debbi and Lisa weren't able to make it but hopefully next time. I've include some photos we took during the day that may bring back a few fond memories. We sure loved seeing you all and look forward to seeing you sooner the next time.
Please look at some of the other posts as I didn't crop any of the photos so you may be seen in some of the other posts - some candid shots.
All is well back here on the Rock. The weather sucks but it pretty much always has.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Bary

The Barlows - Greg's Family

Hello:
On get together day in Toronto we were able to meet the remainder of Greg's family. Having had a lovely dinner with Greg's parents, Lorraine and Gib, and his nephew Zack earlier we had the pleasure of meeting Greg's sister Christina, her husband Loren and son Christopher as well as his Aunt Margaret from Ottawa.
It was a lovely time and you can see from the photos if you put together a Newfie gal, a couple of Ontario ladies and some wine - a good old Newfoundland kitchen party breaks out! Anything goes!

Regards,
Barry
